Hurstool Weekly: Mercyhurst Club Hockey
Last week the Lakers fell to John Caroll and Kent State in their two game weekend. On Friday, Mercyhurst was at home facing John Caroll in a tight matchup losing 5-4 in regulation. First period was nothing more than a shooting fest for both teams with the score at the end being 3-2 John Caroll. In the second period, John Caroll added 2 more goals on the scoreboard to make the score 5-2 and in the third the lakers try to bounce back but was too late making the final score of the contest 5-4. On Saturday the Lakers traveled to Kent State in a divisional matchup still trying to catch their first win of the season. The Lakers came out slow in the first period ending the period with the score 2-0. Second period had many altercations and fights with 3 players from each team being thrown out of the game for fighting. With all that went down Kent state ends the period 3-1 scoring a goal with 6 seconds left in the period. Kent State went on to win the game 4-1 with an empty net seeking 1st...
