This week, I want to dive into something that is a little more personal for me. My experience with the game of baseball. I started off playing the sport when I was around 4 years old, and I have been in love with it ever since. I progressed through tee-ball and little league, and found myself standing on the "big field" as a freshman in high school. I played varsity as a freshman, which was a huge jump and learning curve to me. I had to learn how to compete and play with all of the older kids. During my time in high school, I had also joined a travel program, allowing me to travel to and play in most of the states on the east coast. I met some of my best friends, great mentors, and made some of my greatest memories playing high school and travel baseball, and I do not take those experiences for granted at all. I had always enjoyed playing the game and being outdoors, as I felt it was a way for me to take my mind off of things and have fun playing the game that I loved.

Then, I had the opportunity to play the sport at the collegiate level, at Mercyhurst University for the Mercyhurst Men's baseball team. This was also a ginormous learning curve for me, as the game was being played at a much higher level and faster pace than I had ever experienced. It took a lot of hard work and determination for me to get into the position I am today. I quickly realized, at the collegiate level, this sport was essentially my job. Of course, I still had fun and played the game with as much passion and enthusiasm as I had in high school and growing up, but with a much more serious tone. I really had to work and compete every day to become the player that I wanted and needed to be. I found in college that there was a little less of the "fun factor of the game, and everything needed to be done precisely and with a purpose. I am now entering my senior season of college baseball, and I am continuing to take all of the necessary actions to get better, and hopefully have one heck of a year for my final season.
